{ Top 10 Trends for Spring }

{1} Gardens
The first place I go when spring finally arrives is the backyard or the garden. There's so much happening there, with new flowers blooming daily. And even if you don't have a garden wedding, you can still incorporate garden elements - arrange centerpieces in old watering cans, use vintage seed packets in lieu of table numbers, and send each guest home with a miniature potted plant or herb.

Thank you so much to Ritzy Bee for the inspiration! And happy happy Spring!

{2} Daffodils
Daffodils are so bright and cheery, even playful - such an appropriate personality for a flower that announces the coming of spring. Individually in bud vases, bunched in a bridal bouquet, or even live potted versions for centerpieces, daffodils are easy to love.

{3} Birds and Nests
Don't you love when it's finally warm enough to open your bedroom window, and you hear birds outside? Or when you realize there's a nest in the tree outside the house? Though they've been done before, birds and nests are such a darling element for any spring wedding.

{4} Lily-of-the-Valley
Like tiny little bells, lily-of-the-valley are the quintessential wedding flower. Whether clustered in a simple bouquet, or embellishing a cake or ring pillow, lily-of-the-valley are utterly spring.

{5} Umbrellas
Ah - spring showers! It's certainly a risk to get married outdoors during rainy season, but it can make for some really delightful photos. And if your guests are good sports, then just hand them each an umbrella and relax. Galoshes are cute under a wedding dress anyway!

{6} Tulips
One of the reasons I love tulips so much, is that they're beautiful from beginning to end - from a tight bud, to a wide open flower with petals falling off. And they come in so many wonderful colors and types, and they just make me think Spring!

{7} Butterflies
Butterflies are a delicate addition to flower girl dresses, cakes - even lanterns. They add sweetness and whimsy, and never take themselves too seriously. They would also make for a wonderful stationery motif.

{8} Following Branches
Few things are as symbolic of spring as flowering trees - dogwood, cherry blossoms, magnolia. Bring those beautiful branches into your wedding decor, as centerpieces, or as a dramatic way to display seating cards.

{9} Spring Vegetables
Fresh vegetables need not be limited to your menu. Use them in centerpieces, bouquets, even in miniature for decorating the cake!

As spring is leaving us and the hot summer nights approach, lets do a little top trends of spring....starting with number 10

{10} Pastels
Sweet, barely-there colors are perfect for early spring. Pale pink and yellow, baby blue and minty green, and lavender of course. Incorporate them into your palette, and let them inspire your bouquet, stationery, cake - you name it!
